My city of the Future

 CITY 1

My city will be called Efficiencity. All in this city will be efficient. The houses will produce their own electricity with renewable energy. They will gather the rain water, so there won’t be unnecessary waste of water. The house will change the power of the light depending on the light outside. Of course, you can change it too by a screen control.

In Efficiencity there will be a quality healthcare system. It will continue being free. There will be a quality and efficient public transport. The buses will be electric, as all the cars in the city. Also, it will have free and secure Wi-Fi around the city.

You will be able to do a lot of activities here. It will have a free gym for everyone so doing exercise will not be a problem. Efficiencity will have a lot of cinemas to enjoy the movies. There will have many bars to take “tapas”, a typical Spanish food.

The city will have a lot of facilities like a museum with virtual animals, like a zoo, but in 3D. There will be another museum explaining the past of the city and the country to remember where the traditions came from. It will have a park to chill, sleep and charge your mobile phone too.

The jobs will be the same. There will be human teachers, doctors, shop assistants and street sweeper, but the robots will do the most of the cleaning.

That’s the vision I have about the cities in the future.

CITY 2

My city will be called Green Banana City, since in that city the banana predominates. From my point of view, cities of the future will be the best that we will have in the future, they will be the best innovation in the world. People will be able to live very calm, it will be perfect.

There will be many flying cars that will be very useful; electric transport, fast subways, teleportation cabins, but there will be no motorcycles, since there are many accidents. On the contrary, there will be fast bicycles with their bike lane and all their characteristics.

It will have a shopping center with many shops and recreational centers, a soccer stadium called Green Banana Stadium, a basketball stadium, a Zoo, a banana museum, a banana factory and many more places.

I think that robots will be very useful. They will be the best for the safety of children, the best biggest maid you can have, they will be the best workers, drivers, cashiers, etc.

I think people will be very calm, they will have a lot of free time to rest, the most common job will be to be a robot mechanic. Fun activities will be prepared for all ages. It will be a perfect city.

CITY 3

My city of the future will be like nowadays, but with some renewed things. Starting with houses, the buildings will be very high like skyscrapers. They will also be with modern colors, for example white, silver..with glass, but a very strong and resistant one. And finally very luxurious. For services I imagine transports like now, but they will be more efficient and intelligent. I think that they will be more ecological, that they won’t pollute so much. And finally I imagine that cars will float, but not fly.

Related to jobs I think that in the future, things won’t change a lot, especially improvements of technology and new objects that help people to work.

People of the future, I think that in their free time they will be able to visit the city with some glass balls like a hamster's game, but with chairs and a voice that will explain things about the city. Also people will go to centers of virtual reality games, like videogames of current affairs, but much more modern and fun than now, with 4D, among other things.

About the facilities there will be things the same as now, like zoos, cinemas, but in the future, I imagine a place like the space, to have an opportunity to see how the space is. Also places with obstacles to fly with a backpack. And a center in a sea or ocean, to swim for a long time, with objects that help to breathe underwater, to feel as a mermaid, for example.

This will be my future city.

CITY 4

I imagine the city like this. It will be a big city, and there will be many changes. As the buildings will be modernized and renovated. In each  building there will be a solar panel because I think that we will have stopped the pollution, so, there will be a law about this, there won't be any more non-renewable energy, only solar energy. It’s the same with transports, there will be used renewable energy, no more fuels. And one of the new things is that there will be many robots to help us in cleaning services, in houses, at work… Everyone will have a robot to help you, maybe with a human form, but if you like, it will be with an animal form.

There will be a part of the city with an expensive nature, I mean, no buildings or facilities, nothing, only trees, shrubs, lakes, plants… And if you would like to go you can’t throw away trash. There will be a clean zone. Also there will be some funny places, for example there will be places to play video games, with cars to make races, going to the street to play with flying skates…

The facilities of the city will change, as I said before, there will be modern buildings, all in colour white, with slides for transport apart from the street and cars… And in the center of the city, there will be a big square with sources, benchess, arts…

CITY 5

The name that I have decided to give to my city of the Future is Futureland city. This will be a big and beautiful city.

In this city people will have many options to move around it. Most people will have personal transport. This transport will be automatic cars, electric motorcycle, and some people will have a private plane that will also be automatic. This last transport it will be only for people with lot of money. In addition, in the city you will have to use the public transport. This will be a train without driver, buses with cinema and taxis driven by robots.

The Futureland city will consist of smart houses with robots to serve you and wardrobes that dress you.

The houses will be perfect to live in because they will make you feel in paradise.

In this nice city, few people will work but the most people will work creating applications for robots, advertisement of digitals screens in the city or creating smart machines.

People in their free time will be able to do anything but most will go to the zoo where you will be able to talk to the animals. People also will travel and play in a technological world that Charlie Pace create.

The city will have many facilities. Some of them will be a smart coffee shop, screens in the city where you will be able to see advertising, smart shopping centers and automatics stores. Obviously, the city will have stores where the people will work but many stores will be intelligent or automatic.

Sofia's Poor Family

Sofia was a girl who was only 10 years old. She was from a very poor family but so poor that she could not even go to school, she liked studying a lot but she can not because she is very poor.
Her father died when she was only 2 years old and the cause of her father’s death was that he had cancer and could not do any kind of treatment because he did not have money. Where they lived was a very small town so they could not leave that town because it had a very serious rule: if you go out of that town, they kill you or they will send you to a place where you won’t be able to leave .
Well, she lived all her life with her mother, and her mother is also sick. That is why she does not work. There are days when they do not eat but there are days when Sofia goes to look for food and if she brings it, they eat .
After a few years, her mother also died. When she was already 18,  one day she thinks why she cannot go out of the town because that rule is incorrect.

She decided to go to the house of the president of that town to talk and ask why they cannot go outside the town. When she asked him, he said it is a rule for many years and that no one can leave. After some minutes, the president says if she prepares all the people, and they could leave, he would accept it. The president knew that she would not get it because nobody want to help her because they are afraid of the president. She goes to talk to the people of the village and then, she begins to talk with the people. She talks a lot and finally they are prepared to go and find their freedom.
And then they go outside of that town……
Remember nothing changes, if you are poor nothing happens if you do not have money. Freedom is your right, and you will do it not be afraid of anything you are the future, you are the right.

A Letter to my Mum

Rubén Sánchez,
Barcelona, 08930
Gran via de les Corts Catalanes
Dear mum,
I write to you this letter because I would want that you know how I am in school, my marks, homework...
First of all, I have to recognize that last week I had to send one composition to my English teacher and I forgot it, but don’t worry, because now I’m sending it to her. I hope I will get a 10 because I have made a good job even though I send it late. I think she is a good teacher and a good person.
Also, you have to know that the other day I had a 10 in Technology in the exam, I’m too happy with my results lately.
But now I don’t want to talk about me, I want that you to explain me how your new job in London is, if you have made a lot of friends, if you can understand the language… I’m waiting for your answers impatiently.

See you soon.

My Last Year in School

I'm in 4th of ESO and it's my last year in Saint Gabriel’s school.
It's a pity to leave school because I've been there from my childhood until now. I do not want to leave because I love teachers and students of other classes.
There are people that I will always remember.
In this school, I have been as I am, I have cried, I have laughed, I have shouted, I have sung, I have danced, I have enjoyed …
I would not like to change my lifestyle, my teachers or my friends. Although it's sometimes good, you change everything around you, your day to day.

This year I will enjoy everything to the fullest.

My Summer

Hi bloggers!
This summer I have travelled to several places.
In July, I travelled to Prague in the Czech Republic. I travelled with some friends. To go there, we had a stopover of airplanes, so, we had to stay a whole day in Paris, since our flight was leaving the following day. When we arrived in Prague, the first thing we did was going to the hotel where we stayed seven days. We had time to know almost everything.

It was a unique experience for me since I was with my friends and I had a great time. After those seven days, we had to return. When we arrived at the airport, we realised that our flight had been delayed for two and a half hours. We were worried because we had to stop in Amsterdam. At the end, we missed the flight from Amsterdam to Barcelona, so we remain there one more day. The hotel was beautiful and it gave us time to know a bit of the country. It was time then to return to Barcelona.

My Father, an Anecdote

Hi blogger!
Today I will explain to you one anecdote that happened to my father. It was when we arrived in Spain eleven years ago...
My father found a job, as a nursing assistant. He had to go to Joanic, but my father didn’t know how to go by underground.

When he looked at a map of the underground, he took the wrong direction so he went to the other side. Suddenly, he called us and he said that he was lost. When we heard his voice, he was almost crying, and my brother and I decided to go and find him.

When we arrived, my father had his eyes red because he was scared.

Bloody Mary

Hi guys, in this blog I will explain a creepy urban story about Bloody Mary. The story became popular in the school when many years ago Mary died, and her family buried her. During these ages, people have buried others with a bell next to her.
One day, Mary woke up from his coffin and touched the bell but nobody heard her. The next day, her family watched the bell and opened the coffin. Mary was there with a very bad appearance. Mary said an evil spell, so if you say her name three times watching a mirror, she will appear and kill you.
There are more versions about the story but this is the most popular one. If you wonder why I said a mirror, it is because in the popular culture, people think that the mirror is a door to go to the other world. Other names for Mary are Mary Worth and Mary Whales.
I think that this urban story is false because I have been looking for videos before to investigate about the topic,  and I have never found a real video.
Thank you for reading my blog entry and I hope that you now understand better this urban story.

The Best Afternoon with my Friends

The best afternoon with my friends was that day when we went to the bowling alley and I won the game. I was the last one, but I got ahead of myself and put myself first. My friends were surprised, but nobody got angry. After the bowling, we went to the duck's park and we climbed a little mountain and we started to sing and dance the song of "La gatiposa feliz".

When we were bored of staying in this park, we went to the other park and then we came back to our houses, but on the way home we were singing in the street and the other people looked at us. We were happy and we had a good time. When we arrived home, we talked about interesting things but we were calmer now. In short, it was the perfect evening with the right people.

My life

Hi bloggers! This is me!

I’m Alba, I was born on 20/02/2002, in Barcelona. I’m 14 years old. My mum’s name is Sonia, my father’s name is Antonio and my grandmother’s name is Pepa, she is always next to me. Pepa is a happy and lovely person. I started school when I was three years old in Sant Gabriel’s school. I used to like Music the most, but now I prefer Maths. Teachers in Primary and Secondary are different.. As you grow up, courses are more difficult, and you must study even more. I have a lot of friends, but few of them are my best friends. I like a lot to live in my city. I like going to the cinema and talking with my friends. I have different hobbies for example dancing and singing. And I also like watching TV and being with my family, but I love being with my friends. The food I like the most is pizza, but I don’t like fish. THIS IS MY LIFE, AND I’M HAPPY OF LIVING IT.

A curious experience

Hi bloggers!
Today I will explain to you one anecdote that happened to me.

I was in my old sister’s country house and I went upstairs because I wanted to pee. Then I asked for the keys to my sister and I went upstairs, when I opened the door I saw the cat on the terrace and I left the keys on the table. I went to the bathroom and I started to listen to a few steps, I looked back and I thought I saw a shadow. I was a little scared and I ran, forgetting my keys on the table. Unfortunately I could not think about any excuse and I had to say that I forgot them but, luckily, my brother-in-law had his, and that day I did not go back alone.

The Perfect Weekend

Hi bloggers!

For me the perfect weekend would be going with all my friends to the house of my village, spending the whole weekend there with them.

We would make breakfast together, and we would spend all the day outside: walking around the village, taking photos, exploring the forest... At night, even though all of us would be scared, sure, we would go to explore the forest again but at night. When we arrived home, we would go to bed and we would spend all night gossiping about the things that had happened during the week or some anecdotes. We would wake up late, very late. The last day we would stay there, we would enjoy the most we could. After the weekend, we would return home to relax and calm down remembering those moments ... And again to school!

A Science Fiction Story

Sherlock 3016
Suddenly, I woke up from that dream, it was so strange... By the way, I am Sherlock; I am an investigator in the C.I.A.
I had a very strange case. It was about a girl who had been killed. I was looking for evidences, but I didn’t find nothing. The only thing I could do was making questions to relatives or friends.
When I analysed her blood, I saw that it was not of this world. The girl was from, Cluto, a planet where death was all around. In this planet  there were all sorts of species of aliens, even those that came from films such as Star Wars. I talked with her parents, to explain them what had happened to her daughter, but they just told me, she was addicted to phones. At the same time, I discovered that she had an enemy in her planet. Then I deduced that the case was a cyber murder. All that I had to do was to arrest the offender. The offender lived in the Earth specifically in Europe, in my neighbourhood. Later on, I discovered that he was in my house. Quickly, the C.I.A I imprisoned me but I wasn’t the killer. In prison I could demonstrate my hypothesis with the help of a computer: It was not me, it was an alien that has abducted my body.

How to study for a test?

Hi bloggers!

Today, I will tell you a few simple tips to prepare for an exam:
The first, is reading the text, you must read all of the information, and understand it, but  it’s very difficult to memorize information, if you don't understand it.
The second step is to underline the most important words or phrases when studying as they will stay in your head longer .
Then comes the most difficult and important step, memorizing.  There are many techniques which can be used to memorize information, however you can use the one that suits you best. I recommend doing  mind maps.

Finally, you can ask for help from someone who is at home.  They can ask you some questions, and if you memorized it you will know it well.
One tip I give is not to leave this task for the last day .You have to divide the task, and organize to study for several days, as you can become  bored when  studying everything in one day.

Good luck!

Don't judge a book by its cover

I have been thinking for a long time about what I want to write in this blog. I couldn't stop writing and erasing everything I thought about. But right now, I have just finished watching a video on YouTube, and I know now, that's the topic I want to talk about.

These videos talk about if this particular You Tuber is homosexual; heterosexual...the main purpose is to inform the viewers or fans. However, I think they have other reasons. In my opinion, I don't think that makes sense. You don't need to explain yourself and the way you love other people.
There are people that pay more attention to the sexual orientation, than to the person. I think they are superficial. There's something that made me really sad about watching the videos, and it was reading the comments. There were some people that said that they didn't want to watch the videos any longer.
Don't get me wrong. It is their decision, but that You tuber is still the same person, and their content in the videos isn't going to change just because of the fact they love someone.
So, next time you try to annoy or insult someone because of their sexual orientation, think that they have the same right as you to be with the person they love.

Physical Education lessons for Primary students (2)

“Last Monday we prepared a class of Physical Education for students in 2nd Primary. This is a project that we have to prepare for our class of Physical Education, and the objective is to show that cooperation makes them improve. In the class, we played 4 games that required that all the students work together to win something, if they didn’t work together and worked individually, they lost. We played games like one team catches the other like a food change and they had to carry one child in a mat and they had to move it. After this class, they were very happy and they had fun and worked together during one hour!! These experiences should happen more than once!”

Geography in 3rd ESO

“Last Wednesday, the students of 3rd ESO went to the theatre to learn, listen and see a conference about Geography in English. The person in charge was an American boy, Dustin, who is finishing his degree in Barcelona. He explained lots of things about the United States, America, Europe…He is being evaluated and he told us that he wants to be a teacher.
At the beginning we had to draw a world map and label the continents, oceans… It was a curious experience because it’s not easy to do this without looking at an atlas. He showed lots of maps, and we realised that, Africa is much bigger than what we can usually see in the maps.
At the end, we, the students, made him a lot of questions about geography, his life or the American traditions.
Finally, Ellis and Tim (our conversation assistant) said the same sentences in American and British English so we could see the differences between both accents.
I think we have learnt a lot of things about Geography and English.”

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween in English classes last week. We watched a video about the origins of this festivity and later the students had to finish a scary story. Here you have some examples:

"I think we'll have to spend the night in that old house and wait till morning," I said.
My friends didn't think it was a good idea, but they were cold and wet, so they agreed. We walked up the old wooden steps to the front door. The door creaked open and we went inside, sat down, and started to eat a chocolate bar, when..."

htttp://bogglesworldesl.com

"...suddenly the telephone rang. I got up and I started looking for it. But when I got into a very strange room, with a lot of things covered with sheets, I saw a light behind me and I also heard footsteps. I was very nervous and my heart was beating quickly. I listened to all my friends screaming  and when I turned, a skeleton was running trying to catch Carla. I didn't know what to do and my only idea was to hide under the bed and try to call the police or our parents, while Laia and Ariadna were trying to follow the skeleton and then lock it up into a room."

"...we saw a skeleton running inside the house, we screamed very loudly and we went up to the other floor. When we were on the second floor, we hid under the bed, but we heard footsteps getting closer. We all were in silence but my friend's telephone rang, she took it and it was her mother that said we had to follow the light. When we went out of the bed, we saw a light, and when we arrived at the door, our parents were there. It was just a joke."

"...the telephone rang, I was scared and my friends were nervous. I stood up and walked slowly to answer the telephone. I saw a light outside the house. In that moment, I screamed and we hid under the bed. Five minutes later, I went out and I saw a skeleton that was running in the garden of the house. We were very scared, the fear controlled us. We wanted to go out the house and when we were going to open the door, we heard footsteps behind us. I saw a shadow and it came to me, then I ran quickly. This shadow was the owner of the house. He was an old  person. Suddenly, he started to fall slowly and behind him, it was the skeleton with a sword covered with the blood of the oldman."

Give advice

If you have any problem, the students of 3rd ESO are ready to give you advice. Here you have an example.

"Hi there!

Look, I know your grades have been going really bad lately, and that you feel very sad. But I can't stand seeing you like this! I know that you never talk with your parents about anything, but I think it's time to do so. If you tell them what's going on, they will surely try to help you out and things will go better. So, please tell them, and if it doesn't work out, remember that I'm here as well. I need to see that smile of yours again!
Being so, I have to go.

Bye, bye!"
