The Five Kingdoms
During
the last weeks, the boys and girls of 1st E.S.O have done a biology project in
base groups. During this project, we have been studying the five kingdoms. They
are: The protist kingdom, animal kingdom, plant kingdom, fungi kingdom and monera
kingdom. We have been working on all aspects of these kingdoms, reviewing the
information, and practicing a lot. In order to choose which group would make
each kingdom we made a raffle. We had three hours to prepare a Power Point and
two hours to explain the expositions.
During
these three hours we had Amy with us, a conversation assistant who came to help
us. We have practice a lot of English with her. During this week we are exposing
our Power Points and we have been taken notes from the expositions of our
mates. In these notes we write specific information that our teacher asked us
before. The notes will be part of the final mark.
We
have enjoyed and learnt a lot!!!!

Cats
Today I am going to talk about cats.

Cats hate water but they are very clean, they wash
with the help of their tongue and they can spend 5-10 minutes doing it.
The purr is the sound they make when they are happy
and calm. They can also make that noise if they are sick.
Cats can see at night because their eyes are designed
to take advantage of any kind of light and they can also perceive minimal
movements.
They also have a very acute sense of hearing, being
able to detect high frequency sounds and their smell is very good.
I love cats, so I adopted one a year ago. It's called Oreo because it's black with some white stains. It spends the
day sleeping and eating and is also always in the radiator because it loves the
heat.

Animal abuse
Today I will explain my research on animal abuse,
especially in dogs. According to many investigations the abuse is usually
bigger than in cats. In all countries, there is always that percentage of
animal abuse, it does not matter if it’s a little or big number, there is
always. In one of many investigations, we are told that 50% of the damages are caused
intentionally to animals, and 43% are careless from people. It also tells us
that most of the abuse comes from adult men and teenage. There is also the
woman who, instead of mistreating, abandons the animal or kills it.

Animal Shelter
Hi bloggers!
A few years ago, I wanted a puppy. I was trying to convince
my parents to buy me a dog every day, but they did not want it. They told me
that I had many obligations and responsibilities. I continued trying every day,
until one day I convinced them! They told me that we were not going to buy a
dog but adopt it. I did not know what
that was or where it was, but I was super convinced because the only thing I
wanted was a puppy, so we took the car and went. We arrived at the animal
shelter (Carretera de la Arrabassada) and I was very happy because I was going
to have a puppy, but when we entered there were so many and with so many
things, that my happiness turned into sadness.
Well I took some time to decide because each one had a
different story, but in the end, I took one. It was a unique experience for me
and now you know, if you want an animal, adopt it and do not buy it. I think we
all deserve a second chance.

The Pug
Hi bloggers! I'm going to talka about one type of animal.
The Carlino
/ pug is a small and chubby dog, but at the same time is robust. It has a very
short snout and a huge round head. The teeth close slightly in the form of a
clamp. The eyes are dark, very large and prominent. They are small, thin and
have button-shaped ears. The face has large, deep wrinkles. The tail is
implanted high and curled in the back. Double curls are preferred in
exhibitions. The fur is short, soft and fine.

Alycia Burton
Hi bloggers!
I want to explain you some things about an incredible woman.
Alycia
Burton is an expert with horses. She has an ability that others don’t have. Horses that have suffered from abuses arrive at
her property. Horses have many problems, they need long hours and help for
their rehabilitation. She uploaded a Facebook photo on her profile page and the
fame started out by accident and surprise. Two million views on her videos and
over three million on her YouTube channel. What began started out as playing around
in the paddock, has won her international attention.

But of all the
horses Alycia has one in particular that stands out and holds the key to her
heart, Banjo. Alycia and this horse jump together, it is
clear that they are in perfect sync with each other, knowing each other's moves
and feel the next step. There is nothing more impressive than seeing a rider
who loves his horse and a horse committed to complete its rider. That's the connection
you see when you see them together.
Alycia’s is unique,
she does not follow any method of training, she has learnt thanks to what she
knows from her horses, and she is my idol.
