Apart from being
a game that we have played when we were children, jump rope is one of the most
complete exercises to get fit. This is also used to train in some sports like
boxing, tennis or bodybuilding.
This exercise is
used especially in boxing to improve the coordination and balance. It can also
be used as a warm-up to do other workouts. It accelerates our heart and helps to avoid
cardiovascular problems. It also tones all our muscles because it works the
lower and upper part of our body. But remember to warm up your wrists and
ankles before jumping rope to avoid lesions.
At the beginning it can be complicated because it requires a big effort but with practice everything can be possible. If we dominate the normal jump rope, we can make it more difficult doing different tricks like Side to Side, Cross Step, Side Straddle, Twisters, Double Unders… There are more than 50 tricks that we can do with the rope.

If we aren’t
good at this exercise we have to keep calm and remember that it’s just a fun
activity that doesn’t search who is the best or the fastest.
If we want to
improve we should not throw in the towel and continue practicing.
