Hi bloggers!
The students of 3rd ESO have been preparing some projects about the School Rules. It has been a funny way to practise the Modal Verbs, as they have to find a song that matches each rule. At the same time, they have written and performed one song that includes all of them.
Here you have some examples of the songs. We are editing the videos with their projects and we will show you them as soon as possible.
Enjoy and pay attention!!

Little Mix, the band
I’m
going to talk about my favourite girl band: Little Mix.
Little
Mix is a British girl band composed by: Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne
Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall. These four girls made their group on the X Factor
UK (a reality music show to find new singing talents). They didn’t know who
were they until the coaches of the program decide to made a girl band with these
four girls. Immediately they decided to continue with this project that the
coaches made. They won the program in 2011.
Then,
in 2015 they made Get Weird, and amazing album, with a lot of incredible songs.
Finally,
in 2016, they released their new amazing album: Glory Days. A fantastic album
that talks about some things that the girls lived and their experiences.

Today I will talk to you about the famous basketball
player Amaya Valdemoro.
She was born on the 18th August of 1972, in Madrid. He
played in the position of eaves, with the number 13.
She won three WNBA championship rings and competed in
two Olympic Games (Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008). She was voted as the MVP of
the EuroBasket Women 2007.
Valdemoro was selected with the 30th overall pick in
the 1998 WNBA Draft by the Houston Comets. She played with the Comets from
1998 to 2000, winning championships in each of those three seasons.
She has played in two Summer Olympics with the SWNBT

The Olympic Gods in Ancient Greece
In the Antic Greece, the
Olympic gods were the most important gods in the Mount Olympus. I think that
their stories and powers are very interesting, so I am going to explain to you
some characteristics about each god. As there are a lot of gods and goddess, I
will explain a little bit about six of them.
Hera: Queen of the
gods and goddess of the marriage and the family. She is Chrono and Rea’s daughter. She is Zeus’s
sister and is married to him.
Zeus: He was the “king”
of the Mount Olympus. He is the king of the gods. He is the god of the sky and
the thunder. He is Chrono and Rea’s son. His wife is Hera, but he had a lot of
lovers.
Athena: She is the
goddess of the wisdom, the crafts, the defence and the strategic war. She’s Zeus
and Metis’ daughter .
Poseidon: He’s a very
famous god. He’s the king of the earthquakes, the seas and the horses. He’s a
half son of Chrono and Rea. He’s married with Amphitrite.
Aphrodite: Goddess of the
love, beauty and desire. She’s daughter of Zeus and Dione, born of the foam of
the sea. She’s married with Hephaestus, but she had a lot of lovers, in
special, Ares.

The Bicycle
I chose this means of personal transport and sport,
because I can enjoy it and it’s a good way to go around the cities, countryside,
mountains and beaches.
Another thing I like
about, it is that I can do various sports or activities such as: running,
climbing low mountains, participating in jumping competition...
To take part in these
activities, you can find different types of bicycles.
Mountain bikes
for walks and runs. It is a bicycle designed for off-road cycling.
Mountain bikes share similarities with other bikes, but incorporate features
designed to enhance durability and performance in rough terrain. These
typically include suspension,
more durable heavy duty wheels
and more powerful brakes.
A track bicycle or track bike is a bicycle optimized for racing at a velodrome or outdoor track. Tires are narrow and inflated to high
pressure to reduce rolling
resistance.
BMX bikes are specially designed to practice BMX
(Bicycle Moto Cross), mode of cycling derived from motocross in which tricks
and stunts are performed. BMX bikes are small in size for greater
maneuverability, they have wide handlebars for greater bike control, they
provide metal supports for tricks and they usually carry the saddle in its
lowest position so it does not interfere with jumping.

Harry Potter
The last English Day in our school
was about the Harry Potter’s Saga and I want to talk about the plot of the
films, but, only the beginning because I don’t want to be a spoiler. I’m not
going to talk only about it, I want to go deep to the four different houses of
Hogwarts, the School of Magic.
In the first film we saw a little
boy who was living with his uncles in a miserable way. That boy was named Harry
Potter, when he started living with his uncles he was growing thinking that his
parents died in a human and typical way, but that’s not the truth. Some years went
though and one marvellous day, when Harry was at home, one mysterious letter
appeared in the post-box. A card letter to Harry, it was the first letter that he
had received in his entire life. It was a letter from Hogwarts, one of the most
prestigious Schools of Magic. He had problems at home because his uncles didn’t
want to tell Harry he was a magician. Some things happened in the film, things
that you won’t know if you don’t see the films. (Please, see them.)
When a new witch or magician enters
to Hogwarts they have to take a magic and special hat and put it on his/her
head, this magic hat knows how to read the personality of the person who has
it. The hat has to think about the good and bad things of the new student
because he had to assign him/her to one of the four houses. Hogwarts offers four houses for different
types of students with the names of the people who founded them: Gryffindor,
Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
First we have Gryffindor, it was
founded by Godric Gryffindor, a brave and honorable magician. The
representative colours are gold and red, and they have a lion as an animal
representation.
Then we have Hufflepuff, which is
for kind and true loyal magicians. It was founded by Helga Hufflepuff and their
colours are black and yellow, the animal is a badger.
Ravenclaw has the representation of
an eagle and it was founded by Rowena Ravenclaw. It is for intelligent and
intellectual magicians. Their colours are blue and bronze.
And last, Slytherin, the green
snakes that have a very bad reputation. It was founded by Salazar Slytherin and
the representative colours are emerald and silver. Obviously they have a snake
as an animal representation of them.

How to make an aquarium
Hi bloggers! Do you want to have an aquarium at home?
The
first step is to cut three equal rectangular glass sides.
Then
cut two squares of glass with a similar size to the one of the rectangle.
The
next step is to paste all the crystals with silicone.
When everything is closed,
we decorate it with plastic seaweed and fill it with water.
The last step would
be to put fish inside and we would have the aquarium done.

Eoin Colfer
Artemis Fowl, character of his saga with the same name, written by Eion
Colfer.
Eoin Colfer was born and raised in Wexford, Ireland. As a child he
attended Wexford Christian Brothers School. His father, Billy, was a primary
school teacher as well as an artist and historian. His mother, Noreen, was a theatre
teacher. From primary school he showed great passion for writing and reading
books on Vikings inspired by his history lessons. While he was in sixth grade
of Primary school, he wrote his first work: a play about Vikings in which all
the characters died, except him.
After leaving school, he earned his degree from Dublin University and
qualified for elementary school, returning to work in Wexford. He married in
1991 and together with his wife, Jackie, spent four years working in Saudi
Arabia, Tunisia and Italy.
His first book Benny and Omar, based on his experiences in Tunisia, was
published in 1998. And then translated into several languages. In 2001, the
first book of the series Artemis Fowl was published, allowing him to abandon
his work as a teacher and dedicate full time to writing. Eoin Colfer currently
lives in Ireland with his wife and two children.

The Machu Pichu
Machu Picchu is one of the most
important archaeological and architectural treasures of the Inca Empire in
Peru. It is inscribed on the List of World Heritage by UNESCO since 1983.
The sacred city of Machu Picchu is
located 130 kilometers northeast of Cusco, on the crest of the mountain Machu
Picchu, at 2,200 meters above de the sea level.
The location of the city was a
military secret, as the deep cliffs and mountains were the best natural defence.
It was
a "llaqta" (Inca city), a settlement built to control the economy of
conquered regions. Llaqta was the most beautiful of the Inca empire, and had
been built to shelter the most select aristocracy in case of attack. It seems
that was used for a time as a "resting place" and the Sapa Inca as
"observatory". After the conquest of the empire by the Spaniards, was
the lack of strength of the revolt Inka.
All buildings in Machu Picchu
follow the classic Inca architecture. Between stone and stone, no head
or a knife.
The area built
in Machu Picchu is 530 meters long by 200 meters wide and includes at least 172
enclosures. The complex is divided into
two large areas: the agricultural area, consisting of sets of terraces for
farming, which lies to the south; And the urban area, which is where the
occupants lived and where the main civil and religious activities took place.
Both zones are separated by a wall, a moat and a stairway.

Our Museums
Hi bloggers!
The students in 4th ESO have been discussing about some new museums. As a final project, they have designed a leaflet with all the informations, and, at the same time, they have recorded their voices for a radio advertisement. Their objective is encouraging people to visit their museum. Which one would you choose???
