Eiffel Tower

Hi bloggers!
What do you know about the Eiffel Tower? I can help you!
The Eiffel tower is an iron construction of 300 metres. It was created for the  Universal Exposition of Paris in 1889 and it is the most representative symbol of Paris. It was designed by Maurice Koechlin and Emile Nouguier and built by  Gustave Eiffel during 2 years with the help of 250 workers. There are millions of tourists a year and it is on of the most famous landmarks in the world.

At the beginning of the XX century, with the world wars, the authorities found its utility as an antenna to capture the messages that helped the allies. The initial weight of the tower was 7300 tones but with the museums, shops and stores, the weight raised to 10000 tones.  Eiffel first presented his project to the Barcelona City Hall. The responsible of City Hall said that it looked like a strange and expensive construction and they rejected the project. What a pity, don’t you think?
