WEDNESDAY 27th FEBRUARY

AVENGERS
In 2012 The Avengers was released in cinemas, based on the comic of the same name. It is the first major crossover in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film has an ensemble* cast that includes: Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton).

In the film, a spy agency called S.H.I.E.L.D recruits all these characters in order to stop Thor’s brother (Loki) from subjugating Earth. Some S.H.I.E.L.D members are being controlled by Loki, making the defeat even more challenging. In the end, the Avengers succeed and part ways, awaiting the emergence of a new world-threatening menace…

Other films… Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2015) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) – not yet released.
